Head of Global Energy Storage Procurement
This role will work our project development and delivery teams in the UK, US, ANZ (other regions to come) to build out a world class supply chain of battery storage integrators.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are offering an exciting opportunity for outstanding candidates with a passion for renewable energy to apply their skills to the real-life commercial deployment of energy storage projects globally.
The Head of Global Energy Storage procurement will work our project development and delivery teams in the UK, US, ANZ (other regions to come) to build out a world class supply chain of battery storage integrators.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
- Reporting to the director of procurement and contracts - network infrastructure
- Setting the procurement category strategy globally for battery energy storage supply chain
- Representing Zenobe globally across its most critical supply chain of battery storage integrators and acting as supplier relationship owner in this category
- Owning global volume or framework supply deals for battery storage
- Ensuring Zenobe is at the forefront of latest supplier technology developments in battery energy storage
- Managing a small team of battery energy storage experts
- Working with project teams and the rest of the procurement team to ensure the battery supply chain delivers key project objectives of cost, time, quality
- Interface to route to market and trading teams ensuring supplier commercial agreements align well with trading models and requirements
- Interface to project development teams providing expertise of commercial structures achievable with battery energy storage integrator suppliers
- Build best in class commercial arrangements and contract templates for battery energy storage suppliers
- Ensure project supply chain contracts are negotiated and contracted in line with timelines and project drivers around capex efficiency
- Member of the procurement and contracts leadership team – Network Infrastructure
- Work hand in hand with delivery to ensure all contractors across the delivery portfolio meet contractual performance obligations and delivery targets
- Leadership in mitigating commercial risk on construction projects
- Represent Zenobe at supply chain conferences and ensure we are a customer of choice for energy storage supply chain partners
- Providing senior level representation for Zenobe on claims or supplier contractual issues

- 10 Years’ + experience in procurement of complex capital equipment that has long term operational guarantee commercial models
- Previous experience of battery energy storage procurement and ideally a deep knowledge
- Deep industry knowledge and some technical subject matter expertise in battery storage developments
- Experience of procurement in a capital projects environment
- Team leadership experience
- Ability to interface with engineering teams
- Experience of owning a procurement category strategy globally and building a best in class supply chain for a global spend
- The preferred candidate will hold relevant experience in the construction of battery energy storage system and/or other renewables/generation assets
- Energy industry experience
- A genuine passion for renewable energy
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance, etc)
