We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Software Engineer to take responsibility for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.

We’re the leading owner and operator of battery storage in the UK, supporting the National Grid with the uptake of renewable power. We also work with c.90% of the UK's major bus companies, powering 25% of the UK e-bus market. We’re also the number one owner and operator of e-buses in Australia and New Zealand, and are quickly expanding into light commercial vehicles and trucks. THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Software Engineer to join our team and be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure to support Zenobe’s applications and services.
You will lead the development of our AWS cloud architecture, automation strategies, and DevOps practices, ensuring efficient CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and system monitoring. Collaborating closely with development teams, you will troubleshoot complex issues, optimise performance, and enforce compliance with industry standards.
Your role will also include evaluating emerging cloud technologies to align with business goals and drive innovation. As a Senior engineer, you will be involved with mentoring junior engineers and helping your team grow.

ESSENTIAL
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc.
- Proficiency in Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure at scale.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with GitOps principles and tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Proficient with version control using Git and collaboration via Git-based workflows.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch Logs).
- Strong automation skills (e.g., Ansible, GitHub Actions) for reliability and operational tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading development teams by example.
- Comfortable taking part in out of hours on call support rota.
- Willing and able to travel to our head office in London or other locations within the UK for team meetings up to once a month.

- Worked in a cross-functional team as part of fast paced, rapidly evolving and dynamic organisation.
- Provided in and out-of-ours (by rota) L2/L3 technical support.
